28 week Check-Up

Josh and I are anxiously going along this journey together and we're SUPER excited about meeting our Magnus. Our "big guy." Our "buddy." As usual, he's been extremely active and I can tell from movements and rolls that his position has turned down. I recently decided to push him back when he kicks or punches me and while I can't really say if he's responding or if it's just coincidence, I usually get some type of movement back in the same spot!

I'm 29 weeks and 4 days today, and last Friday we had our 28 week check-up. When I stepped on the scale, a number didn't even show up, it just read, "Horse." So as usual, that made my blood pressure sky rocket. I mentioned the BP number made me nervous and that it's never been that high, so after the doc and I chatted a while, she re-took my BP and it had dropped 16 points. We're sitting at 116/65 these days. Magnus' heartbeat was 140 BPM and my belly size (fundal height) was 29 cm. which is right on target. And the results to my glucose test were great. That just means at this point I'm very unlikely to develop gestational diabetes.

I still hit the spinning classes and overall I'm getting to the gym 5 days a week, but I can definitely see a difference in what I CAN'T do anymore. However, I have two other pregnant gals (due about the same time as me) who continue to go, so I use them for inspiration!

Josh and I took our first birth class last week and it just basically went through the stages of labor and what to expect at our hospital and the one thing that stuck out was how quickly a woman's uterus shrinks back to size!!! It goes from being the size of a watermelon and back to normal just several hours later!

EASTER: Judy and Andy came up Saturday morning to spend Easter weekend with us. It was a wonderful time. Saturday we went to a winery just down the road so they could do some tasting (I stuck my tongue down Josh's glass a couple times like a parched dog), then we hit the casino for a couple games and lunch, and our evening was spent playing some cards and chatting. Sunday morning we had a wonderful Easter Brunch at a nearby golf course that overlooked the Puget Sound. I ate like a pig. But it was worth it. (It wasn't until later I realized my stretch pants had a run going right up my butt crack). Afterward we went to the hanger at Josh's work to see the Blackhawk up close and personal. Those things always amaze me and makes me a proud, braggart of a wife because, "My husband flies Blackhawks...no big deal." Here are some pictures from Easter! Love you
